I know that many people feel that reading financial books is boring and would rather read anything else. I felt that way too until I started reading them. I agree that many financial books are very boring and reading after 1 or 2 pages leaves you fast asleep. But the books I am about to list below are really interesting and you should give some or all of them a chance.
What I love most about financial books is that you really learn things that you can immediately apply to your own financial life. They provide ‘Ah-Ha’ moments you never would have thought of. Lessons that can help you change your financial situation and give you a new perspective on how money and life work. It also helps that the authors are often financial experts and have done all the legwork and research for you. These books can also make great gifts for the people close to you in your life. The gift of knowledge is the gift that keeps on giving.
This was the first financial book I read and probably had the biggest impact on me. This book taught me how wealthy people approach business and how they manage their finances versus people who don’t have a lot of money. There are many easy to read charts and graphs in this book that demonstrate where your assets and liabilities should be going as well. It was an eye opener for me and I totally recommend this book, especially for younger readers. If you are a parent, then you need to read this book. And when you finish reading it, pass it on to your children.
This was a really fun book to read about money. I think Suze is such a great and persuasive spokesperson in the personal finance world. If you are someone that is struggling with your finances, then this book is for you. She covers topics such as buying your first home, saving for your emergency fund, credit card debt, student loans, etc. And she writes about them in a fun, clear and easy to learn way. You’ll want to keep this book close by at all times, especially if you just don’t know where to start when it comes to bettering your financial life.
This book will whip you into financial shape. There is a tone of directness that Dave Ramsey uses throughout his book. Many people need that in order to finally start getting their financial life in order. There are many testimonials in this book that have used Mr. Ramsey’s methods and have been successful in turning their financial life around. We share the same sentiments with paying off debt and funding your emergency fund to name a few. This book is great for everyone, especially for people trying to get out of debt and take back control of their financial lives.
I absolutely loved this book. It opened me up to a new culture and also helped my finances. I firmly believe that having an organized home and being financially successful go hand and hand. A cluttered space is a cluttered life. I plan on writing a post about this in the future. This book teaches you how to be more organized in your home, room by room. This translated to me as being more organized with my finances as well. This book is great for people that want to start being more organized with their lives, especially for you hoarders out there.

This book was interesting because it really examined why people have the habits that they do. The author really delves into understanding how habits are formed and how they work. I learned why people have habits around the subject of money. There are many stories that explore many different types of habits such as habits of exercise and diet just to name a few. This book is great for people that want to reexamine themselves and learn about why they do the things that they do in life.
I watch Fredrik on Bravo’s ‘Million Dollar Listing NYC’ reality TV show. He is such a funny and inspiring character to watch. He came to the US with no money, no contacts and English was not his native language, but yet he has built an empire in the Real Estate world. He consistently closes on multi-million dollar properties in NYC. This book illustrates his methods on how to sell anything to anyone, the way he does. It’s a feel-good book that everyone can learn and benefit from.
Bethenney is another person I regularly watch in my guilty pleasure of watching reality TV marathons. She appeared on The Real Housewives of New York almost 10 years ago and has successfully launched a multi-million dollar health food and beverage empire. She truly is one of those impressive personalities. In this book, she lists 10 rules that relate to living a more successful, healthier and happier life. It’s a great read for anyone who is looking for self-improvement. This book also teaches you that anything can lead to your next big break.
