With the new season we’re seeing some gorgeous new collections hitting the shelves but the one I’m most excited about (as always) is the Shanghai Suzy lipstick range. Each season we see an edit of 8 lipsticks launch remaining at an affordable price AND being so on trend.
In the past there has been a variety of different finishes however this time we see just the improved ‘whipped matte’ finish across the entire range. This is my favourite finish because it’s buildable, comfortable and still gives that long wear like a matte lipstick would. I’m obsessed with the new strawberry scent that we saw introduced with the last collection – so yummy! The whole range is vegan, cruelty-free and made in Melbourne. Now onto the fun part! I was super excited to see this summer collection how lots of orange hues because I love me so orange lips. Let’s go through them one by one!
Miss Louise Peachy Nude: A bunch of you guys are going to LOVE this colour because it’s a great pastel, peach nude that has a great balance meaning you don’t look dead when wearing it. For me, I have alot of texture and pigment too my natural lips so it just doesn’t work for me but the colour is incredible!
Miss Bianca Mango Sunset: The mango name is perfect because it really is the orange of a mango. This is probably going to be my everyday summer colour just with some bronzer and lashes – perfection!
Miss Chloe Toffee: If you’re following me on snapchat you would’ve seen that I got REALLY excited by this colour. Before even reading the description on the website it really reminded me of two of my favourites from past collections Miss Tanielle Desert Rose and Miss Leah Baby Cocoa and what do you know Jo actually meant that! It’s a really flattering nude shade and I can tell this is going to be a sell out – seriously my favourite of all favourites!!
Miss Fiona Grapefruit Martini:I was surprised that this grapefruit colour suited me but the neon-like finish gives the complexion a real big boost so I really love that. I can see this suiting almost any skin tone but looking slightly different on everyone if you know what I mean?!
Miss Laura Pink Lady: There are two real pinks in the collection and this one my pick from the two because it’s a little more wearable. It’s a gorgeous midtone pink that still offers a punch of colour to make a statement.
Miss Jess Cotton Candy: This is the other pink offering and it’s cool-toned so super bright and bold. I can imagine this with a good tan and lots of highlight but for me it’s not going to be the colour I wear lots but still fun!
Miss Andrea Tangerine: Another super loud colour is this bad boy that is the most divine orange. It’s very loud, bright, bold and fun! I LOVE IT!!!!!
Miss Claire Fire Engine Red: I thought this was a rerelease and reading the website it is! I feel like such a die-hard Shanghai Suzy fan girl because I knew that. It’s the most incredible red with an orange-base and I’ve wore the original of this so many times. It’s stunning! If you’re on the hunt for a new red shade this is the one for you.
Overall I’m obsessed with the new collection and it really is a great balance between bright fun colours along with some more neutral shades. I think there is something for everyone! My pick is Miss Chloe Toffee for a nude, Miss Andrea Tangerine for a bright pop of colour and Miss Claire Fire Engine Red is one everyone should buy because it is incredible!
