Eyebrows are one of a person’s most distinguishing features. Styling them alters the contour and expression of your face. This year marks the big comeback of the eyebrow. Thanks to Cara Delevingne and Lily Collins, we’re lusting over big thick beautiful brows.
Perfect eyebrows with a long-lasting effect are possible thanks to treatments such as eyebrow microblading or microshading. However, the most popular option is still the most natural and harmless: eyebrow makeup, which allows you to do exactly how much and when you want to make up your eyebrows.
It is not, however, about over-marking the brows or making them appear too thick. The goal of eyebrow makeup is to clarify the form of the brows and fill in minor gaps in sparse or very thin brows.
Don’t have naturally full arches? No worries! Makeup artist, Lydia Deljaj, taught us how to achieve perfect brows in under five minutes. All you need is a pair of tweezers, a spoolie brush, concealer, brow pencil and clear mascara or brow gel.
5 Minute Eyebrow Makeover
Start off by cleaning up your brows. Be careful not to over tweeze past the inner corner of your eye or the end of your brow.
Brush brows into place with spoolie brush. Use the concealer to outline the desired shape and then buff into skin using a thin brush (or your ring finger – just be gentle).
With a thin brow pencil, use light wispy strokes to define the shape of your brow. “Start by making a line along the bottom and top of your brow and then feather through to fill in sparse areas,” said Lydia. “I really like Anastasia of Beverly Hills Brow Wiz, it draws on thin and is easy to control.”
Use the spoolie brush again to soften the harshness of the pencil. Continue to layer and brush out until you’ve reached the desired shade and then set with clear mascara or brow gel.

Eyebrows can be styled in a variety of ways, and the thickness of your brows will be determined by the shape of your face. But if there’s one thing we can all agree on, it’s that brows look lot better when they’re not excessively thick or thin. Color should be applied in small increments to obtain the perfect balance.
We recommend using a waterproof eyebrow pencil or pencil if you have a bad brow or a very thin brow. The reason for this is simple: if you have sparse brows, you’ll need to apply more makeup, and some temperatures cause makeup to run. If this is the case, a waterproof eyebrow pencil is the way to go.
